Hi, my name is Michelle Stapleton and I run an online tree gift company called Treeco.ie which is based at my home in Rathangan, Co. Kildare, Ireland. I have had a passion for gardening since I was a child and my Granny was a real inspiration to me – her garden was so full of life and colour in every season.

I set up this company because a few years ago, my mother in law gave a beautiful weeping Cherry tree to my husband and I when we moved into our house. We thought it was a wonderful gift – something which is living, eco-friendly and a reminder of a special person or event for many years to come.

I am also aware of how much we spend on bouquets of cut flowers which wither after a few days, while for virtually the same cost you can get a beautiful tree gift that will bring life to your garden for generations. In present times, this seems more important and relevant than ever.

I have been on many a shopping trip to buy trees and experienced the issues of trying to find the right tree e.g. wandering around garden centres trying to get information due to poor labeling, lack of quality and choice in some centres, getting the car messy and not having enough room to transport etc..

I decided to make the experience as easy as I could for the person buying the tree whether they were purchasing for themselves or as a present.

So all that you have to do is choose a tree, leave a message for the recipient (which I will handwrite on a card to suit your chosen occasion) and we’ll gift wrap it in biodegradable hessian wrapping , label it, pop it inside a strong cardboard tube and courier it to the gift recipients’ or your door.

I am really fussy about the quality of the trees and shrubs I send out so I have no doubt that you or whoever receives the tree will be delighted. Each tree will come with information about planting and we’ve also put a little bit about the history, folklore and uses for your tree which I think you’ll find interesting.
